GUMIGEM : Teething Jewellery and Pendants

For 2 years I have forsaken wearing any jewellery as necklaces get their chains broken, beads strewn everywhere and pendants ruined whilst bracelets get chewed when they aren't safe and snapped not to mention earrings getting pulled and ripped out of my ears with such force they tear my ear lobes. So, like many Mummies, I gave up on wearing jewellery altogether as it was easier than having the worry not only of jewellery getting broken but, more importantly, that those broken pieces were then dangerous to Lexi.

GUMIGEM

I have reviewed teething jewellery before and thought it was brilliant so when asked to review a couple of pendants by GUMIGEM I was really pleased. Even though Lexi is quite old for needing to use teething jewellery having just turned 2 yesterday, she still has molars pushing through which cause her a lot of discomfort and distress which, for a Mummy, is horrible to deal with knowing she's in pain and even our best efforts, sometimes don't help! So I was really looking forward to giving the pendants from GUIMGEM a try...

GUMIGEM Lightning Pendant - The Bolt

The Lightning Pendants from GUIMGEM are especially design to be ideal for molars which is perfect for Lexi at the moment with her molars pushing through and causing her discomfort. When it arrived, I really liked the unique lightning bolt design and it is very different from other teething jewellery I have seen. It is available in different gorgeous colours but I really liked the white "The Bolt" colour as it is shimmery and pearlescent and looks expensive and chic. The pendant is on a black cord necklace which has a breakaway safety clasp which is fantastic because Lexi tugged on it quite hard and rather than biting into my neck, it just pulled free for her to have a chew on.

The pendant itself is made from soft silicone similar to most other baby teethers. Some nursery necklaces are made from hard beads which dentists feel aren't ideal for baby's newly developing teeth, so the soft silicone GUMIGEM pendants are the perfect material to ease teething pains but without damaging baby's newly emerging teeth.

I would recommend that Lexi is pretty much on the limit of age for GUIMGEM pendants as she has left teeth marks in them from biting them so hard so I think a child much older may be able to bite right through them. Being designed for babies as oppose to crazy monsters like Lexi, I'm not surprised that she was almost able to bite through though because she is able to chew through almost anything!!

The GUMIGEM Lightning Pendants are available to buy for just £10.00 which, for a stylish piece of jewellery, I think is an absolute bargain. Why not pop over to their website and take a look at their Lightning Pendants.

GUMIGEM Disc Pendant - Ginger Nutt

The GUMIGEM Disc Pendant measures approximately 2 inches across. It is made from the same soft silicone as the Lightning Pendant and has the same fantastic credentials of being perfectly safe for babies and toddlers aswell as being absolutely gorgeous.

I loved the colour of the Ginger Nutt one we were sent. It looks really stylish with it's shiny, multi coloured coppery colour. I love how it looks like a 'normal' pendant too which is fabulous for us Mummy's to wear something that it not only practical for our little one but also looks gorgeous making us feel better about ourselves and our appearance.

It was an instant hit with Lexi too.

She loved it instantly and knew instinctively what to do with it. Although, she probably would have put it in her mouth whether it was a teething pendant or not as she still insists that my jewellery tastes delicious so I still can't wear anything that isn't a GUMIGEM. The length of the cord is perfect too; it sits nicely on your chest and is plenty long enough for a baby or toddler to put in their mouth without needing to pull too hard or lean in so close that they dribble all down your front!

All GUMIGEM jewellery made from silicone meets FDA standards and is BPA, PVC, Lead, Latex and Phthalate free so perfectly safe for your little one too! They have an extensive range of gorgeous colours, designs and styles on their website here so why not pop over and take a look for yourself. To make it even more fantastic, the silicone GUMIGEM pendants are also completely dishwasher and steriliser safe so easy to clean and keep sterile before being put into a baby's mouth. No need to worry about nasty germs or dirt!

I, along with many other endorsers including Denise Van Outen, think that teething jewellery is a brilliant idea. At first, when I was told the concept, I was worried that it would encourage a baby or toddler to then chew all jewellery because they thought it was safe to chew so wouldn't be able to distinguish the difference between appropriate to chew teething jewellery and normal, non-chewable jewellery. I came to the conclusion after much thought and research that teething jewellery is so affordable and comes in such a variety of shapes, colours, designs and styles that the only jewellery Mummies of young children need is teething jewellery. No other jewellery is required because there is something to suit everybody. Therefore until a toddler is old enough to either not need to chew or to be able to understand the distinction of teething jewellery as oppose to non-chewable ordinary jewellery, a Mummy can have a vast array of gorgeous jewellery which is ALL for teething and all looks great!

GUMIGEM pendants are fantastic and definitely eased Lexi's molar teething pains making them definitely Loved By Lexi.
